telc certificate German C1 University
telc German C1 University tests the advanced language skills required to undertake tertiary education in the German language. The examination is aimed at adults who wish to study at a German-speaking university or those already studying or working in academia who wish to certify their skills.
Foreign applicants who present a telc German C1 University certificate are exempt from the requirement to take the DSH (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang) or any other language examination. This recognition applies federally to all German universities as well as numerous universities in Austria and Switzerland.
The examination consists of a written and oral section. The written examination takes 3 hours and 40 minutes. Prior to the oral examination candidates are given 20 minutes preparation time. The written and oral test take place on two consecutive days. In the written examination the following language elements are assessed: Reading comprehension, language components (vocabulary and grammar), listening comprehension, and written expression. In the oral section the active use of language is tested.
You do not have to be a participant in one of our language courses in order to sit the telc German C1 University exam at inlingua Frankfurt.
